Cheat Codes: ------------ All Ithildin Door Poems: ------------------------ Use the following solutions to solve all five Ithildin Door Poems and get the Bright Lord's Legendary Set. You must find six Ithildin collectibles per region, return to the Ithildin Door, and fill the blanks in the poem. The Ithildin Door locations are marked on the map. When you hover over the icon, you can see white outlines on the map showing you the entrance to the tomb.
Place a marker where the white outlines end to locate the entrance more easily. To get the six Ithildins to appear on the map, you must purify all Headir Towers in the region. There are always six Ithildins and one door per region.
There are five total regions. Behind each do:
-=Midas Morgul Poem=- * Shadows * Drums * Cadence * Land * Wrath * Doom -=Cirith Ungol Poem=- * Rises * Fires * Night * Beacons * Shines * Marching -=Gorgoroth Poem=- * Lurk * Bulwark * Impervious * Powers * Vicious * Fail -=Nurnen Poem=- * Iron * Serpents * Avail * Woe * Hordes * Claim
-=Seregost Poem=- * Slumbers * Nest * Poisoned * Trapped * Comes * Base
Easy fight pit wins: -------------------- If your Orc is about to lose at a fight pit, simply quit the game and retry again until he wins.
Remember To Summon: ------------------- It’s best to remember that you can summon various Orcs that have pledged their alliance to help during your fight. If a battle is getting out of hand then request help from your followers.
Tips: ----- 1.You will not be able to create your own army until you don't get to get to Act 2, at the Nurnen Region. 2.Make a habit of holding down a single Elf Shot, for just in case purpose, like if there is any explosion barrel to shot at nearby and if you are short of the Elf Shot, then don't worry as there is a possibility that you can probably, recover some from the Orc, by dominating on it. You can follow the same processes if you wish to regain some health. 3.Try to keep the entire combo button in your head when the Might Meter is full. As this will let you dominate on the Orc, by pressing A+B. 4.Missions play a very important role in Shadow of War, as these directly affect the Nemesis System. So always have a look at the Map for the Mission. Many times you will have only 3 Chance to complete the mission before it expires so, always have an eye on the Map. Also make a note of, that every time you go for another Time limit mission, the timer will reduce down the time by one and if the mission expires then an outcome will be generated. 5.If you wish to have some nice amount of collectibles to collect then make a point of capturing the Haedir Tower in each Map. These Haedir Tower are scattered around each Map in a number of 3 and getting onto the top of it and acquiring it will let you create a fast travel between the regions and you will have a number of collectibles scattered around the region of Talion to collect. 6.Having a check at the surroundings is also a good idea with the help of the Wraith Vision, as this will let you know about the things happening in the surrounding like the number of Orcs, Captains and the other collectibles. 7.You will immediately go hidden as you hide in the Bushes and even make a sudden attack in the Orcs nearby, by sampling pressing the right trigger. This type of gameplay suits the best for the Stealth type players.
Hot to Dodge Bruz's Attacks: ---------------------------- Written by CogYang
Dodge Bruz's attacks by sliding through his legs! Basic tip on how to do this challenge in the quest "Ring of Power".
-=Ogre Leg Sliding=- So this took me a while to figure out, thought I should share in case others had trouble.
In order to slide between any ogre's legs, but Bruz in particular for the mission challenge, you will only need to dodge, not an actual leg slide. Specifically you have to dodge right at him, and only when he attacks with the dodge prompt.
Keyboard default is SPACEBAR, and I find I often need to hit it twice for the dodge to execute properly.
I do not know the default dodge for other platforms, but you can look it up for yourself in the menu, guide, combat, dodging. Their discription for Vaulting specifically is what you'll be doing to slide under an ogre's legs.
How to Transfer your Followers: ------------------------------- Once you have started to conquer every Fortress in the region, you will feel to defend one fortress with your Strong Followers. And if you want to move your followers from one Fortress to another then you need a special item called - 'Reassignment Orders'. This item can only be found in War Chest and Silver Chest (buy with in-game currency).
It took us 23 Silver Chest to find this little item. Once you get the item early (Lucky You!) then simply use it with Training order to the follower you want to move. This will make then head back to Market Garrison then reassign to any region you want. Still unsure about how to use the Training Order? Follow the below steps:
1.Head to the Start Menu to select the 'Army' option. 2.Highlight the Orc and select the 'Command' option(Y on Xbox One and Triangle on PS4). 3.Select Training Orders (X on Xbox One and Square on PS4). 4.Choose Reassignment Orders.
Note: If you give a Follower too much Power then they can even betray you. If you are still having Problem with the Fortress then check our Guide for Defending Fortress and Acquiring Fortress with ease.
Easy Ways to Farm Legendaries: ------------------------------ If you just want as many Legendaries as fast as possible there isn’t much to optimize. 1.Kill every Captain on Sight. (Rarity doesn’t improve). 2.Always Skip Time when you Fast Travel. (For fresh Captains). 3.Farm Nemesis Missions, preferable these with multiple participants.
If you want to farm a specific Legendary it gets a bit more complicated. 1.Search for Banners etc. of the Clan you want, the best indicator is a Statue. 2.Search for the Soldier type that can drop your legendary. 3.Let him kill you.
Make sure there is always a free Slot so the new Captain doesn’t have to duel his way on the map which doesn’t always succeed.
Getting the Silenced Handgun: ----------------------------- Successfully complete the "Out In The Open" and "Getting Back Online" side missions in Chapter 7 to unlock the Silenced Handgun. Both side missions are for a man named Sykes. You find him fending off zombies in a parking lot, around the center of the map. You can enter the parking lot through the gate in the south. Kill all the zombies and rescue Sykes. Then, talk to him in his safe house to complete the "Out In The Open" side mission. He will then give you the "Getting Back Online" side mission, which requires you to backtrack a little bit and use the computer in the northern safehouse. You then get teleported back to The Marrow where you must access a terminal. Run back to Sykes and he will unlock a big orange box in his safe house, which contains the Silenced Handgun.
Tips and Tricks: ---------------- Written by BEGONE THOT
This is a guide to some tips and tricks for players who have started playing Shadow Of War.
1.If you find yourself continuously overwhelmed while fighting captains/warchiefs/overlords, invest in the shadow pull upgrade for Shadow strike. As long as they’re not arrow proof, you can pull them to you from a distance. Make sure you are in a hard place to get to so that you can 1v1 the captain without the hassle of other orcs interrupting. 2.The counter ability that insta-kills orcs is really strong, Invest in that skill when you can to easily clear orcs of the area. 3.Use your surroundings. It will make the difference between life and death, especially later when the nastier kinds of enemies start showing up. Morgal fly hives, Caragors and their cages and bait, exploding and poisonable grog barrels, Elfshot caches and the like will show up with your Wraithsight (default V). Use them to your advantage. 4.Remember that enemies can still be stealth killed for a couple seconds after spotting you. The general rule of thumb is that you have until they draw their weapon to kill them. 5.When a Captain’s icon over his head turns from red to green, you can Grab and Drain or Shank him with no resistance. This can be very easily accomplished when they’re afraid of something like burning or Caragors; when Terrified, they’re instantly grabbable. 6.Always use Wraithsight right before you cause a ruckus. You want to make sure there is an acceptable (usually below 2) number of captains in the area, or else you may be overwhelmed. 7.Do not underestimate the importance of Elfshot. Longbow shots pierce, and hammer throws have splash damage. In addition, a large number of Captains and Warchiefs have traits that need Elfshot to exploit; usually causing them to be Dazed if you shoot them in the head or the foot. Caches are more important in War since you can’t have the talents that Dominate and restore Elfshot on Drain at the same time. 8.USE THOSE WEAKNESSES. The weaknesses of the captains are an essential part of the game. Some Captains will be all but unkillable without exploiting their weaknesses. 9.Never start a fair fight. You’re a Ranger, not a Spartan. Scout the area before you fight. See where the orcs are. See where environmental features are that you can use. Find a good fallback point. Elfshot caches, Caragor bait, etc. are. The game rewards diversifying your attack strategies, so get used to using everything at your advantage. Unless something doesn’t go according to plan, you should be able to kill every Orc and Uruk in a given situation without engaging more than 2 or 3 at a time. 10.Your orcs only level as high as your current level. If you are trying to level them and their not changing its because of your level. 11.Sending an uruk to garrison removes blood brother trait. Useful if you like your follower, but want to kill his bb. And killing a blood brother makes a follower betray you. 12.Prioritize getting Combat Drain first. You do not regen health and the magical health herbs from Shadow of Mordor are gone. You only regain health by draining an enemy orc and this is exceptionally hard to do in the middle of the horde. Combat drain murders an orc (or dominates it) and gives you back health. It really is better than execution in almost every circumstance. 13.You have to unlock each skill in order along each row for Talion. So if you want to ride Graugs, you first have to learn to ride Caragors. 14.Ologs are your best friend, even if they aren’t on your side. One charged arrow to the head, or one stun prompt and you can “mount” the beast and now you have a hitstreak building, might filling, grunt destroying machine. 15.The Wraith stun is still too good. Literally any captain that can be vaulted can be followed up with a stun. Use it to take out those pesky defender captains.
Gem Guide: ---------- Written by RedVenomDragon
So, you want to know how to make/use gems to their fullest potential. This guide is for you, then!
-=Introduction=- Gems. They're not important at a glance, but when closely examined, their true potential is revealed. There are three types of gems, warrior gems, health gems, and wealth gems. Each one has different uses. To unlock gem slots, you must pay 1000 mirian per gear piece. To get the mirian, there are other guides that go more in-depth on that. This guide, however, aims to introduce, or help guide gem production.
-=Warrior Gems=- Warrior gems are the damage gems. They make your weapons do more damage, based on the rarity, and if put on weapons. They make all of your weapons do more damage when put on armor, however not as much as when a single gem is placed on one of your weapons. Finally, they make your followers do more damage when placed on a rune.
-=Health Gems=- Health gems give you more health, and, like warrior gems, give different bonuses when put on different gear pieces. When put on a weapon, they increase the amount of health stolen with the weapon that they are equipped upon. For armor, they increase your maximum health, and for runes they decrease the amount of damage your followers take.
-=Wealth Gems=- Wealth gems are gems that provide bonuses that profit you, as they are 'wealth' gems. When placed on a weapon, they increase mirian drop chances from that weapon. When placed on armor, they increase your total xp gain. Lastly, when placed on a rune, they provide up to five levels on newly recruited followers.
-=Farming Gems=- Okay, with the bonuses of each gem out the way, let's get to how you farm gems. Gems can be obtained in three ways. The first way is through treasure orcs, which is generally the easiest way to find them. The second way is through randomly wandering through the world and finding gems laying around. The last way is through Shadow of The Past missions, which are only obtainable through completing all three objectives and can only be obtained once. For this guide, treasure orcs are the method that is going to be used. There are two types of treasure orcs. One is the usual orc with a white marker above their head that drops basic gems. The second, on the other hand, are treasure ologs, that have a red marker on their head that can drop either 1,000 mirian or a Polished gem. Treasure ologs are rare, so you'll generally go through the world only killing usual treasure orcs.
-=Gem Tiers=- Gem tiers provide the multiplier for their bonuses. For example, a regular warrior gem provides a 10% boost to a weapon, whereas a perfect warrior gem provides a 30% boost to the weapon. The regular tier of gem is the most basic and can be found by killing usual treasure orcs. The second tier is carved gems. Carved gems can be found by killing treasure orcs, too, however it is a lot rarer. They can also be found by combining three basic gems. Polished gems are the third tier of gems, and they can be found by killing a treasure olog or combining three carved gems. The fourth tier of gems is refined gems. They can only be made by combining three polished gems, however the result is very much worth it. You might only get these late act II or early act IV. The fifth and final tier of gems is perfect gems. They are only obtainable through combining three refined gems. These gems are incredibly late game items, and you will generally only get them in late shadow wars.
-=Combining Gems=- Combining gems can be done by going to the gem screen and hovering over a gem. If you have three of that gem, you can make a better tier gem. It is highly recommended to not do this when you don't have to, seeing as you can end up with a shortage of powerful gems to give to armor/weapons/runes that you haven't paid attention to. For example, you can rush making a perfect gem for one gear piece, but then only have carved gems of that type for other pieces of gear.
Easy XP in Act 4: ----------------- The best and quickest way to gain lots of XP in Act 4 is by losing your keeps instead of defending them. You earn a lot more experience by retaking a fort than you will successfully defending it. You get approximately 50k XP for successfully defending a fort, while you get approximately 160k XP for failing to defend a fort and then retaking it. For more XP, add White Gems to your armor for a small XP buff. Upgrade them for even more XP. When losing a fort, you do not lose Warchiefs or Overlords. Overlords are captured, so if you want to keep them, you will have to complete a rescue mission later. You can send out Orcs to save him. To make things easier, replace your good Overlords with useless ones before losing. There is (currently) a bug that makes the rescue mission sometimes never appear. To avoid potentially losing your best Uruks, leave some spaces open and swap terrible Overlords into your fort. For every fort defense quest, simply lose the fort and retake it for around three times the regular amount of XP you would earn.
